Shelby Duplessis
Founder and Managing Partner
As Founder and Managing Partner of Diversified Future, Shelby exercises her business acumen to strategically examine future growth opportunities in residential and commercial development that will improve and enhance the quality of life for cities, municipalities and residents.
Shelby is a trained civil engineer that earned her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Arizona State University, holds a professional engineering designation and is LEED accredited. After college, she spent nearly 20 years in project management for public and private development projects throughout the West Valley and Arizona.
Duplessis began her career with a civil engineering firm where she rose through the ranks to senior project manager and partner, managing a team of than 50 employees and multiple development projects. In 2015, Duplessis accepted a position at Empire Group where she was promoted to president of land development and responsible for facilitating the development of more than 60 residential and commercial projects. Shelby left Empire Group in spring 2023 to build a Diversified Future.
Shelby is an active member of the business community and donates her time to multiple organizations. She is a graduate and active member of Leadership West where she was board president. She is also an active member of Westmarc, Charter 100, and has served as a board member on design review, and the Historic Preservation Commission Chair for City of Peoria.
Her professional experience and commitment to the community has earned multiple recognitions. Shelby was named 2017 Alumni of the Year by Leadership West; she’s a past Honorary Commander and current Blue Blazer at Luke Air Force Base; in 2022, she was honored by Phoenix Business Journal as an Outstanding Business Woman of the Year.
Shelby is frequently interviewed by the media and serves as a panel and featured speaker for industry organizations, conferences and events including Bisnow, IBEX and IMN to share her insights and expertise on real estate development. Outside of her professional involvements, Shelby serves on the board of Speak Up, Stand Up, Save a Life, a nonprofit providing resources and support for students struggling with depression, abuse and bullying and she recently joined the board of Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
